I asked the First Minister for Wales to provide an update on the discussions between the Welsh and UK Governments regarding freeports.
I was pleased to hear that Secretary of State, Michael Gove is leading discussions with the Welsh Government on freeports and that talks have accelerated significantly.
In Parliament, I continue to argue that Bridgend would be a suitable destination for Wales’s first freeport.
Freeports will benefit the whole of the UK. They will bring jobs and investment across the United Kingdom, whilst driving growth, prosperity and economic regeneration opportunities in Wales.
