As one of his very first visits, the new Member of Parliament for Bridgend has visited Bridgend Town JobCentre staff to thank them for their continued work.
During this visit, Jamie was joined by the UK Government’s Employment Minister, Mims Davies MP.
Commenting during the visit, Jamie said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank the JobCentre staff for the work that they do day-in-day-out to support people into employment.
“It was also important to get feedback from staff that they could raise directly with the Minister, Mims Davies MP so that she could understand the needs of the people of Bridgend in helping them gain employment.
“We also took the opportunity to discuss with the JobCentre the on-going news surrounding Ford Bridgend Plant and what more can be done to make sure that those skilled jobs are not lost within our community.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff for their hard work and look forward to working with them in the coming years.”
