Local MP, Jamie Wallis is urging tourists and visitors to stay away from Bridgend & Portchawl this Bank Holiday Friday.
Lockdown measures are due to be reviewed today, Thursday 7th May, but an announcement on any change in the restrictions is not due until Sunday evening.
Jamie said: “The huge and difficult sacrifice made by residents across Bridgend & Porthcawl is working.
“To now think that the job is done would be simply counter productive and could lead to a second peak, overwhelming our NHS and costing many more lives.
“That is why I am urging people to relent from visiting tourist hotspots like Porthcawl for that little while longer because by doing this, we are saving the NHS and saving lives.”
“I would like to thank you all for following the rules so far and hope you all stay safe.
“Together we will beat this virus”
