I am deeply concerned with the news that Easyway will cease trading after 31 July.
Easyway runs the 16 service between Bridgend and Bettws via the Princess of Wales Hospital, the 49 service between Bridgend and Oaklands via Bridgend Life Centre, and the 81 service between Bridgend and Pen- y- Fai via the Princess of Wales Hospital.
The loss of these services will massively impact those in our community and beyond. These routes provide access to vital services such as the Princess of Wales Hospital and the Town Centre.
I have written to the Welsh Government’s Minister for Transport to ask what provisions will be made to BCBC to ensure these bus services continue to be available for the wider Bridgend region.
Furthermore, I have written to BCBC to request an urgent meeting with them to discuss what plans they have to ensure that these services continue once Esyway ceases trading.
