I have welcomed figures which show that the auto enrolment of workplace pensions has been a huge success in Bridgend.
8,000 employees across Bridgend have been automatically enrolled into a workplace pension with 1,350 employers.
These figures show that the UK Government’s scheme has been a genuine game changer by creating a stronger savings culture for future generations and facilitating a record number of pension savers.
I want to thank employers who have played a major role in supporting this scheme with the result that increasing contributions are now equal to eight per cent of pay being saved.
