In my Seaside News column this month, I have raised the benefits of major golf tournaments would bring to our local economy. The investment in our local businesses and hospitality sector is fantastic for Bridgend and Porthcawl. We must continue to explore what opportunities exist to attract major events to our area.

It was great to visit Spectrum Technologies in Bridgend. As a global company, it was interesting to discuss Spectrum Technology’s growth in Bridgend and what future opportunities will arise for them thanks to Brexit.

I have written to Bridgend County Borough Council to enquire about what action will be taken to ensure that the misuse of this land is stopped.
I have written to the Welsh Government Health Minister, Eluned Morgan, to raise my concerns regarding sarcoma cancer treatment in Wales.
It’s deeply concerning that there is currently not a single bone and soft tissue sarcoma specialist centre in all of Wales.

This week, I met with the Secretary of State for Levelling up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, to discuss Bridgend’s Levelling Up Fund bids.
I welcome the UK Government’s Homes for Ukraine Scheme, which will allow individuals, charities, community groups and businesses in the UK to bring Ukrainians to safety – including those with no family ties to the UK.
