Today is Pension Credit Day of Action. This campaign aims to help with the challenges some pensioners face with the cost of living.
There are already 1,900 claimants in Bridgend, but many more may be eligible for an average of £3,000 annually in extra support. Around 25% of those entitled to claim additional support currently do not do so.
As well as a cash top-up to the State Pension, Pension Credit is a passport to help with housing costs, council tax reduction schemes, heating bills and acquiring a free over 75s TV License.
I have recently written to residents in Bridgend and Porthcawl to raise awareness locally and remind constituents to check if they are eligible for this UK Government support.
Pension Credit can be claimed online, by telephone, or by post. More information is available on the Gov.UK website www.Gov.UK/pension-credit.
If you have any questions about claiming Pension Credit, please contact me directly via Jamie.email@example.com
