It was great to attend the Porthcawl RNLI’s naming ceremony of their new D class lifeboat.
The lifeboat has been named after Hugo Missen, who tragically died of leukaemia at fifteen months old.
Lifeboat Hugo Missen ensures that Hugo’s name lives on as a crucial part of the Porthcawl lifeboat station.
Funded entirely by donations, this new D class lifeboat will be primarily used for surfer/ swimmer incidents.
Thank you to all the crew and volunteers at Porthcawl RNLI who dedicate their time and service to saving lives. Lifeboat Hugo Missen will serve Porthcawl and its crew well for years to come.
