It was a privilege to attend the Bridgend County Unsung Heroes Awards 2022 and present the Sports Volunteer of the Year award.
Congratulations to Diane Carter, who won the award. It was fantastic to recognise her work for Impetus Dance. Their innovative approach teaches a variety of genres for inclusive and wheelchair dancers.
A huge thank you to BAVO (Bridgend Association of Voluntary Organisations) for organising the event. BAVO provide support, practical assistance and information to local voluntary sector groups to develop skills, services and activities.
I would like to congratulate everyone who won an award, but also everyone who was nominated. I am proud to have such amazing volunteers within our community who dedicate their time to helping others.
