I am concerned about the continued decrease in youth spending in Bridgend and Porthcawl.
The latest YMCA report into cuts to youth services shows that there has been a 38% decrease in youth spending over the past decade in the local authority area of Bridgend.
I am pleased that the UK Government has committed to investing £368 million through the Youth Investment Fund to deliver new services for our youth. This is a welcome announcement in England; however, the Welsh Government must provide similar levels of investment.
I have written to the Welsh Government to enquire about what plans they have to provide sustainable, revenue funding for local authorities to spend on youth services in the future.
