I have written to the Welsh Health Minister to express my deep concern regarding the decrease in hospital bed numbers in Wales.
I was shocked to learn that a patient was treated in an ambulance outside the Princess of Wales Hospital for 41 hours before being admitted to the Emergency Department.
The target time for handovers into the hospital is 15 minutes.
The Welsh Government’s cutting of hospital bed numbers in Wales has led to increasing pressure on hospitals.
The Welsh Government must take urgent action to ensure that patients admitted to the hospital are given a bed as quickly as possible.
