I met with the Chancellor, Rishi Sunak to convey concerns regarding the rising cost of living and to hear what steps the UK Government is taking to help tackle this crisis.
At this week’s sitting of the Parliamentary Welsh Affairs Select Committee, I raised the topic of community-owned renewable energy and if these projects have a future In Wales?
This week, I met with the Secretary of State for Levelling up, Housing and Communities, Michael Gove, to discuss Bridgend’s Levelling Up Fund bids.
It was fantastic to hear of the success of the Kickstart scheme In Bridgend and Porthcawl. The scheme has been used to provide jobs for young people in the constituency. Across Wales there are 5,000 Kickstart jobs, tackling youth unemployment in Bridgend and across the country.
This week I raised my concerns that my constituents have one of the highest council tax bills in Wales. In fact, it is consistently one of the most expensive areas for council tax in the UK.

BCBC have responded to my calls for more funding to develop golf in Bridgend County by deciding to contribute £50,000 towards the Senior Open Golf Tournament at Royal Porthcawl.
