During a Economic debate in the House of Commons yesterday (Monday 11th January), Bridgend MP, Jamie Wallis, asked Rishi Sunak, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to look at recommendations made by the UKHospitality’s recommendations on how the Government can help, in particular with an extension of VAT and business rates support.
Speaking after the debate, Jamie said: ” With the award-winning Kenfig Nature Reserve and some of the best surfing beaches in the world, Bridgend and Porthcawl are heavily reliant on the hospitality and tourism sectors.
“I was pleased that the UK Government recognised their importance to our economy and I look forward to supporting this vital sector through these difficult times and into the future.”
