Mental Health Awareness Week 9th- 15th May

  • News

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week, the UK’s national week to raise awareness for mental health.

This year, the theme is ‘Loneliness’. Across the country, people will be reflecting on loneliness and how it impacts our mental health.

Throughout the Covid pandemic, millions of people experienced loneliness, which had a major impact on their mental health.

Loneliness and its effects on mental health deserve more attention. As a society, we must do more to reduce loneliness and prevent mental health problems by investing in welcoming community initiatives.

Bridgend is home to a range of fantastic community initiatives such as Mental Health Matters, who work tirelessly to raise awareness of mental health in Bridgend.
