After the announcement today, by the First Secretary of State, Dominic Raab MP, that the current lockdown provisions will be in place for a further 3-weeks, Bridgend MP, Jamie Wallis has given his reaction.
He said: “The news that the lockdown has been extended for 3 more weeks will come as no surprise to many of you.
“This announcement is vitally important so we can ensure that we have passed the peak of this virus and help our NHS.
“While I appreciate these measures are immensely difficult for many, but during these unprecedented times, it is so important that we follow the rules and not get complacent.
“Together we made a huge difference this Bank Holiday Easter weekend and I would like to say a huge thank you to all of you who are so closely following these rules.
“The evidence is showing that these measures are working and now more than ever, we must follow these simple steps.
“We will beat this virus and by staying at home we are protecting our NHS and saving lives.”
