MP helps out local care home

BRIDGEND MP Jamie Wallis was able to deliver much needed personal protection equipment to carers looking after frail and elderly people in Porthcawl.

The MP was given 60 masks and eight protective goggles by the B&Q store in Bridgend and he delivered them to Jessie’s Angels, a care agency in Porthcawl.

Jamie said: “I am very grateful to B&Q for donating this equipment. All of these items are in short supply at the moment and it was great that the company and its staff in Bridgend wanted to help in this way.

“I was able to take these items to Jessie’s Angels who work with very sick and vulnerable people looking after them in their own homes. It’s very important that carers have access to this equipment to not only to protect themselves from infection but also the people they are caring for.

“I was just happy that I was able to facilitate this kind gesture by B&Q and help a compassionate and hard-working group of people who are doing their best to look after their patients in these very difficult times.”
