I have written to the Welsh Government Health Minister, Eluned Morgan, to raise my concerns regarding sarcoma cancer treatment in Wales.
It’s deeply concerning that there is currently not a single bone and soft tissue sarcoma specialist centre in all of Wales. For Welsh patients suffering from soft tissue or bone sarcoma, they must be treated in two of the fifteen specialist sarcoma centres in England.
The current situation is unacceptable. It is imperative that the Welsh Government fund sarcoma specialist centres in Wales. This will improve the speed at which sarcoma is diagnosed and give Welsh patients the best chance of survival.
