Asking the Home Office to Unlock Britain’s Cyber Defence

In the light of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, we must unlock our national cyber-defence to protect the United Kingdom from cyber-attacks.

I asked the Minister for Security and Borders if he agreed with me that now is the ideal time to review and reform the 32-year old Computer Misuse Act 1990. These reforms have been recommended by the ISC’s Russia report and will go a long way in boosting our national cyber-defence.

I was pleased to hear the Minister confirm that the Home Office is currently reviewing suggested reforms to the Computer Misuse Act.
