A group of MP’s in parliament have come together to look in to the actions of the Chinese government during the Coronavirus pandemic has been set up.
Bridgend MP, Jamie Wallis, has become one of the members of this new group, called “China Research Group” which will be chaired by Tom Tugendhat MP.
The group will not be “anti-China” according to its new chair, but will look for ways to “explore opportunities to engage with” the country.
Commenting on joining this new group, Jamie said: “During this pandemic, we have heard many concerns about the way in which China has dealt with the Coronavirus and their reporting of it.
“Therefore, I am pleased to have joined China Reform Group in parliament.
“Never has the need been greater to examine and scrutinise China’s role in the world and I’m looking forward to working with colleagues to examine the UK relationship with China and the Communist Party of China.”
