I have written to the Secretary of State for Justice, Dominic Raab, to ask if he will ensure freedom of speech is strengthened in the proposed British Bill of Rights.
I am pleased the Secretary of State has assured me that the British Bill of Rights will strengthen protections that support and preserve the space for democratic debate.
Freedom of expression is a fundamental freedom that underpins our democracy. It must be protected through the British Bill of Rights.
