At this week’s sitting of the Parliamentary Welsh Affairs Committee, I questioned the First Minister, Mark Drakeford, on his refusal to hold a Wales specific COVID inquiry.
Throughout the pandemic, the Welsh Government have made it extremely clear that they are the decision-makers in Wales. But they refuse to be held accountable for the highest COVID death rate per 100,000 in the UK or the 25% of COVID transmissions that occurred in Welsh hospitals.
Mark Drakeford and the Welsh Government’s refusal for a Wales specific COVID inquiry is yet another example of Welsh Labour wanting responsibility without accountability.
