Today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the achievements of women in Bridgend and across the world.
International Women’s Day is an opportunity to raise awareness for the struggles of equality between men and women in society.
I am pleased to see the UK Government launch their new pay transparency initiative, which will level up employment opportunities for women.
This new initiative will improve pay transparency in the job application process, ensuring employers list salary ranges on job adverts and do not require applicants to disclose their salary histories.
Additionally, it is fantastic to see the launch of a new programme to help women back into STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths).
These measures will help tackle gender inequality across the whole of the United Kingdom.
