Supporting the Down Syndrome Bill

I met with Dr Liam Fox MP to discuss the Down Syndrome Bill, which is currently making its way through Parliament.

I am delighted to support this Bill, which will improve services and life outcomes for those with Down Syndrome. It does this by requiring that authorities take account of Government guidance when providing health, social care, education, and housing services.

There are around 47,000 people with Down Syndrome in the UK. Many face significant challenges throughout all stages of their lives. I am pleased to see this Bill pass through Parliament with cross-party support, ensuring that people living with Down Syndrome have the best possible opportunities and support.
