The UK Government has continued to level up our economy, most recently strengthening our union by agreeing to the largest funding settlement for Wales since devolution was implemented in 1998.
The global trade deals being signed by the UK Government will help increase Welsh exports and directly benefit companies within Bridgend.
The freeport scheme has been welcomed across Wales and will provide economic growth and job creation to the whole of the UK. With one freeport being established in Wales, I will continue to argue that the Port Talbot and Bridgend area would lend itself fantastically to the first UK Government freeport in Wales, creating up to 15,000 jobs.
The UK Government’s swift action on introducing the £400 billion support package throughout the pandemic has protected jobs in Bridgend and across the UK.
It is the actions of the UK Government that present a clear benefit of our union by strengthening our economy.
