It was fantastic to hear of the success of the Kickstart scheme In Bridgend and Porthcawl. The scheme has been used to provide jobs for young people in the constituency. Across Wales there are 5,000 Kickstart jobs, tackling youth unemployment in Bridgend and across the country.
Storm Eunice caused severe disruption across Wales and the United Kingdom, with over 80,000 homes expected to be impacted.
However, it was promising to hear that the storm defences, invested in over the last 12 months, have been successful in stopping the most severe damage across the United Kingdom.
I recently raised the idea of a Light Railway or Tramway link between Porthcawl and Pyle railway station in my Seaside News column. The interest I have received regarding the railway proposal suggests that a feasibility study is the necessary next step.
