Today, the Prime Minister resigned his position. Whatever my thoughts on the events of recent weeks, the Prime Minister has worked to deliver Brexit, the fastest vaccine rollout in Europe and unfaltering support to Ukraine in light of the Russian invasion.
It was great to meet with the Prime Minister alongside Conservative colleagues to discuss support for energy-intensive industries. I stressed the importance of decarbonising our steel industry and the role hydrogen technology could play in developing a UK steel industry designed for the future.
The invasion of Ukraine has put a spotlight on our need to strengthen cybersecurity. I have written to the Prime Minister to enquire as to what progress has been made in reviewing the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
I asked the Prime Minister if he agrees with me that the Great British public does not need to look back at the last UK Labour Government to see that Labour’s answer is to demand that the taxpayer bails them out of their own incompetence.
