Labour’s tourism levy could spell disaster for the Welsh tourism industry. I have highlighted this in my column for the Seaside News. The tourism tax will mean that visitors will pay more to visit Wales than they will to go to other popular places such as Cornwall or the Lake District.
The recently announced coalition deal between Welsh Labour and Plaid Cymru in the Welsh Parliament contains a tourism tax. This tax will have cause significant damage to Porthcawl and is evidence that Labour- nationalist coalitions are bad for business, bad for the economy and bad for the United Kingdom. I raised this issue in the House to the Chancellor.
